Rev. Phyllis A. Williams is Executive Pastor of the Upper Room Full Gospel Church. Pastor Phyllis is charged with the general oversight of all ministries and the day-to-day operations of Upper Room Church. She also serves as a support and sounding board for Pastor Williams, assisting in fulfilling the vision and call of Upper Room Church.
She stands courageously alongside her husband and Senior Pastor, Rev. Bruce Williams and was licensed into the Gospel Ministry at the Upper Room Full Gospel Church in December 1995 by Pastor Williams. In 1998, Co-Pastor Williams was ordained as an Elder by Bishop Ira F. Butler, Presiding Prelate of the Eastern Atlantic Diocese, Church of the Living God. Her foundation in ministry began at Second Baptist Church (now the Cathedral International) when she was ordained by Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr. as a deacon and appointed as the coordinator of the Nursery Ministry.
Co-Pastor Williams is an energetic visionary “par excellence,” never tiring from fulfilling the call of God on her life. She serves as the Church Administrator, Praise and Worship Coordinator, and leads the Women’s Ministry. In addition, she co-founded the Kingdom Empowerment Corporation (KEC), where she serves as the Chief Operating Officer. Through KEC, she coordinates and mentors young women in the Kingdom Leadership Academy and serves as a guest lecturer in the Leadership Training Institute. Previously, she served as the Public Relations Coordinator for the Eastern Atlantic Diocese of the Church of the Living God. In recognition of her life’s work, The Phyllis A. Williams Elementary and Junior School in Liberia West Africa was named in her honor.
Co-Pastor Williams continues to seek after God’s wisdom in order to elevate her ministry by attending the Berean Bible Institute of the Upper Room Full Gospel Church as well as seminars and conferences both locally and abroad. She is a frequently requested speaker at women’s conferences and seminars throughout New Jersey. She received a Certificate of Completion in Christology from Rhema Bible School in Tulsa, OK, and is a graduate of the Sawyer School of Business. As evidenced by her elegance and grace, Co-Pastor Williams is also a graduate of the Barbizon School of Modeling. Co-Pastor Williams is currently employed by The Conti Group, located in Edison, New Jersey where she supports their Contracts Department’s procurement group. Through her work at Conti, she has also received business continuing education certificates from Essex County College.
Her greatest fulfillments after realizing Christ as her Lord & Savior, were meeting and marrying her husband, Pastor Bruce Williams, who is her mentor and friend, and raising their five children; Tiffany, Bruce, Jr., Jeff, Mike, and Tim; ecstatic concerning her daughter-in-law Carolina and grandsons Kian and Jeffrey. She is forever giving God all the praise for the blessings He has bestowed on her through her family. She is a woman determined to allow God to use her to the utmost. A woman Living on Purpose!
